Park East Synagogue is home to New York's most popular and creative Shabbat Children's program. Under the warm and caring supervision of Toby Einsidler, the "Children's Service" features a unique children's siddur, created for this program; it is full of colorful illustrations and photographs, singing, dancing, learning, play and food. Each week children ages 2-6 participate in a Shabbat-appropriate art project that helps children understand the message of the weekly Torah portion. Parents from all over New York City bring their children to participate in this one-of-a-kind experience that truly brings Shabbat to life.
Older Children, ages 6-10, participate in our Junior Congregation, led by our youth director Raanan Lefkowitz, where they conduct a Shabbat service, learn about the Torah portion and play age appropriate games.
